Guidelines and Actions

The governing procedures of the Department of Motor Vehicles to conduct Driver Safety hearings are contained in the California Vehicle Code, the Government Code and Title 13 of the California Code of Regulations. In reaching a decision on an action regarding the driving privilege of a person under the provisions of the Vehicle Code, the department may consider the following Driver Safety action guidelines:
