Occupational Licensing Industry News OLIN 2006-08

New Distribution for DMV Publications  PDF Version

Information

Changes in Occupational Licensing (OL) regulations will allow Traffic Violator Schools (TVS) to administer the written test for TVS instructors.

The anticipated implementation date is October 1, 2006. A detailed memo will be distributed before implementation to provide specific information on the changes, administration of the test, and oversight requirements.

Background

Currently, applicants for a TVS instructor license must take the written test at a designated field office. This change will eliminate field office involvement and streamline the instructor licensing process. Although the law became effective on June 1, 2006, the department will not implement until October 1, 2006.
