AB2499, TVS Program-Implementation Update
Assembly Bill 2499, Chapter 599, effective January 1, 2011, and includes other delayed effective dates, expands the Traffic Violator School (TVS) Program to include all educational programs that result in the masking of a violation on a driving record. This requires significant changes and additions to regulations to comply with the new law. This bill also continues to authorize the department to contract with Traffic Assistance Programs to perform services related to program oversight and the approval of course curriculums. As a result, there will be major changes in the way that traffic violator schools, the courts and the department will operate within the TVS program.
