Occupational Licensing
The Car Buyer’s Bill of Rights
The implementation of Assembly Bill 68, the Car Buyer’s Bill of Rights, on July 1, 2006, will affect more than 10,000 vehicle dealers in California. The bill requires dealers to offer buyers a 2-day contract cancellation option, advertise “certified” vehicles under specified conditions, provide buyers with an itemized price disclosure document for aftermarket add-ons, and limits receipt of finance fees at 2 percent for 60 month contracts and 2 ½ percent for under 60 month contracts.

Business Partner Automation Program
Program that allows qualified industry businesses to process vehicle related transactions from their remote locations. The program is comprised of companies such as registration services, dealers, rental car companies, vehicle leasing companies, and may include any companies with a business need to process vehicle related transactions from their places of business.
