DMV Vendor Day

DMV Vendor Day

The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the California Department of Technology (CDT) are looking for innovative organizations to join our journey to transform how the DMV does business. In alignment with the Governor’s mandate, we are looking to become more responsive, efficient and effective as we transform the DMV into a more modern and efficient organization.

This is a unique opportunity to present your solutions to transform DMV, especially in the following challenging areas, to the State’s leadership team:

  1. Manage REAL ID Demand
  2. Optimize Service Delivery
  3. Improve back-office operations
  4. Define a technology roadmap “from now to next”

Thank you for a great Vendor Day

Thank you for joining DMV and CDT leadership for the Vendor Day on October 17, 2019. The overwhelming response to our call to participate was much appreciated. The presentation used during the session is available at DMV Vendor Day (PDF). Please be on the lookout for some additional information to be posted on this website, based on the questions in the session. Additional information requested during the session (the legacy technical architecture, Real ID processing times and other details) may be received using the contact email provided on the online application page.

Upcoming Pitch Day

We will be inviting select companies (see below on how to apply) to present their innovative solutions, on how to best address one or more of these challenges, to a team of State and industry leaders. Pitch Day is not open to the public. The "pitch date" has not been set but is tentatively planned for mid-November 2019.

How to Apply

Please complete the online application to be screened for an opportunity to present at Pitch Day, by November 3, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. PST.

The application has two sections and typically takes 1-3 hours to complete:

  1. Describe your innovative solution
  2. Organization background and qualifications

The application can be saved and returned to at a later time (click the “Finish this later” link in the header). Applications can be edited until the deadline on November 3 at 11:59 p.m. PST. No changes will be accepted after the deadline.

What happens after I submit an application?

  1. Applications will be screened for relevance, viability, execution and track record in early November 2019
  2. Applicants with the best alignment with DMV’s challenges will be invited to present on the Pitch Day in mid-November 2019
