New Lancaster DMV Field Office Opens February 6
Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is improving the way it offers services to the residents of the Antelope Valley by consolidating services that have been offered at the longtime Lancaster and Palmdale field offices. Both of these sites will be closed and replaced with a new modern facility that opens February 6, 2017. It is located in Lancaster at 721 West Avenue L6.
The new office will provide more efficient services, with a larger lobby, additional work stations and more customer parking. It will also have two Driver Safety Hearing officers who preside over driver safety administrative hearings.
The former Lancaster field office closed on January 27 to transition to the new facility; however, the Palmdale field office will remain open to serve customers in the area until it permanently closes on February 10.
The DMV reminds customers that it offers many online services at www.dmv.ca.gov, which will save them a trip to a DMV field office. A few of the convenient options include renewing a vehicle registration and driver license, completing a change of address, requesting a driver record, and making an appointment.
The new Lancaster field office will open on February 6, 2017
