DMV Dedicates New Lancaster Field Office
Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today held a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Lancaster field office located at 721 West Avenue L6. The office opened to the public on February 6, 2017.
The nearly 28,000 square foot facility provides customers more efficient services, offers a larger lobby area, additional work stations, and more parking. The office also houses two Driver Safety Hearing officers who preside over driver safety administrative hearings.
The office incorporates sustainable materials into the building design and overall site. Some of the rewards are the extensive use of day lighting, water-efficient plumbing and irrigation, and drought-tolerant landscaping. The facility is expected to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design New Construction Silver Certification.
Since the office opened to the public on February 6, staff has served nearly 30,000 customers.
The former Lancaster field office, located at 1110 West Avenue I, closed on January 27 and the Palmdale field office, located at 2260 East Palmdale Boulevard closed on February 10. The office closures helped improve the way the DMV offers services to the residents of Antelope Valley by consolidating services into one location.
Special guests cut ceremonial ribbon to dedicate the Lancaster DMV field office.
