Merced Field Office to Close for Renovations

SACRAMENTO - The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is reminding customers that the Merced Field Office located at 1313 West 12th Street will be closing on Friday, October 25, 2013, at 5 p.m. for renovations.

The office first opened in 1975 and is closing for seven weeks for renovations that will include the replacement of existing doors, signage, floors, exterior paint and parking lot seal and stripe.

The office will reopen on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 8 a.m.

Merced DMV staff members will be temporarily reassigned to nearby locations during the renovation.

  • Madera Field Office: 1206 West Maple Street
  • Los Banos Field Office: 814 West L Street
  • Modesto Field Office: 14 Burney Street

The Merced office is one of several facilities slated for maintenance, repair or renovation projects during 2013. DMV typically schedules about a dozen closures each year for varying lengths of time to address infrastructure deficiencies, upgrade mechanical and electrical systems and replace equipment and finishes.
