Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is opening a new Commercial Drive Test Center (CDTC) for commercial drivers in the Los Angeles County area. The Gardena CDTC, located at 14825 South Avalon Boulevard, will open to the public on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
The Gardena CDTC is one of four specialized commercial driver test centers across the state. The facility will offer commercial driver written exams and behind the wheel skills tests, and will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday, the office will open from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The new 6,010 square foot building sits on a six acre site with a design that incorporates sustainable building materials, drought-tolerant native landscaping, and water and energy efficient building systems. It is expected to be awarded a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) New Construction Silver Certification. LEED is a green building certification program that recognizes the best building strategies and practices.
