Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is offering limited services free of charge to residents impacted by the Santa Barbara County mudslides. DMV staff will be available at a temporary Local Assistance Center set up at the Calvary Chapel, 1 N. Calle Cesar Chavez, Santa Barbara. The center opens Wednesday, January 17 at 11 a.m.
Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. issued an emergency proclamation authorizing fee and/or penalty waivers for mudslide victims in Santa Barbara County, which allows them to replace the following items if damaged due to the mudslides: duplicate driver licenses, identification cards, vehicle registration and title, and disabled person parking placards. In addition, mudslide survivors can acquire substitute license plates and stickers, vehicle disposal paperwork, driver record printouts and process a change of address. These services also are available at local DMV field offices.
