Visit the DMV information booth to use a DMV Now kiosk

Sacramento – Visitors to this year’s Los Angeles County Fair can renew their vehicle registration using a DMV Now kiosk located at the DMV information booth in Expo Hall 4 – South. In a matter of minutes, the blue and gold kiosk will issue a vehicle registration card and license plate sticker on the spot. Customers must bring their renewal notice or current registration card to complete the transaction. The kiosk located at the fair accepts credit and debit cards only.

Fairgoers, from August 30 to September 22, will also be able to complete these other transactions using the popular kiosk:

DMV Now Kiosk
  • File for planned non-operation status
  • Pay a vehicle registration reinstatement fee
  • Submit or remove an affidavit of non-use
  • Provide proof of insurance when requested by the Vehicle Insurance Program

To complete one of these additional transactions, customers will need to bring:

✔ License plate number and last five characters of their vehicle identification number or;

✔ Letter from the DMV with a personal identification number

✔ Insurance documents may also be required

The DMV Now kiosks provide instructions in English and Spanish and can be found at more than 250 locations throughout the state, with more on the way. They are located at DMV field offices, grocery stores, libraries, AAA offices and UC Irvine.

Save Time, Go Online: Many DMV transactions can be completed by using DMV Online Services at dmv.ca.gov. The website allows Californians to change their address, complete a Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability, order special license plates, schedule an appointment, and more.

Extended Morning Hours: The DMV offers extended morning hours at 69 of its offices. Doors open one hour earlier, at 7 a.m., every weekday except Wednesday. Find an office here.
