If year stickers were inadvertently placed on the wrong vehicle, the following procedures must be followed:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

If the Application<\/span><\/strong><\/th>Then<\/span><\/strong><\/th><\/tr><\/thead>
If the Application<\/span>Is still in the office<\/td>Then<\/span>Have the customer submit any remnants of the erroneously applied sticker.

Process a no-fee substitute sticker application for the vehicle the sticker was inadvertently placed on, if necessary.

Submit any remnants of the erroneously applied sticker with your work.<\/td><\/tr>
If the Application<\/span>Was already transmitted to DMV headquarters
<\/td>		Then<\/span>Have the customer submit any remnants of the erroneously applied sticker.

Have the customer complete a\u00a0REG 156 (PDF)<\/a>\u00a0with the replacement box checked.

Process a no-fee substitute sticker application.

Process a no-fee substitute sticker application for the vehicle the sticker was inadvertently placed on, if necessary.

Submit any remnants of the erroneously applied sticker with your work.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n<\/body>\n\n\n

All<\/strong> incorrect and\/or mutilated stickers must <\/strong>be turned in for destruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note:<\/strong> If the incorrect sticker cannot be removed from the license plate, advise the applicant to place the new sticker over it.
