Popular and convenient kiosks are popping up in more locations
Sacramento – Check out your favorite book and renew your vehicle registration using a DMV Now Self-Service Terminal recently installed at the Sacramento Central Library. DMV field offices in Fairfield, Rocklin and Tracy also now have the popular kiosk, which issues a registration card and license plate sticker on the spot.
DMV Now Self-Service Terminals are currently available at 115 locations throughout the state, including AAA auto clubs in San Jose, San Francisco and Fresno. By the end of the year, the DMV plans to install another 50 terminals at grocery stores, which will bring the total number to 165.
Individuals must have their vehicle registration renewal notice or most recent vehicle registration card to conduct a transaction and can pay using cash*, check, credit card or debit card.

Customers are reminded that many transactions can be completed online, such as driver license or vehicle registration renewal, vehicle transfer, release of liability, change of address and more. Online services also allow users to schedule an appointment and fill out the electronic driver license application before visiting a field office.
For more information on all online services visit here.
* The kiosk located at the Safeway in midtown Sacramento does not accept cash. The kiosk in Tracy begins accepting cash by the end of the month and the one at the Sacramento Central Library will start accepting cash at the end of the September.
