NATO member countries are listed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmv.ca.gov\/portal\/handbook\/vehicle-industry-registration-procedures-manual-2\/nonresident-vehicles\/nonresident-military-nrm-exemption\/\">Nonresident Military (NRM) Exemption<\/a> section in Chapter 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The following must be submitted:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A completed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmv.ca.gov\/portal\/file\/north-atlantic-treaty-organization-nato-status-of-forces-agreement-reg-5046-pdf\/\">North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Status of Forces Agreement (REG 5046) (PDF)<\/a> form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If applying in person, NATO member identification (ID) must be presented as follows:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A member of a force of a NATO country <strong>must<\/strong> present <strong>both<\/strong> of the following:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A personal ID card issued by the member\u2019s home NATO country showing their name, date of birth, service organization, and a photograph.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Movement orders in the member\u2019s home NATO country language and English certifying they are ordered to be in California.
