Information Requests<\/strong>\u2014Use the following procedure when a DOJ stop or NCIC hit is encountered on an information request:<\/p>\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n\n\n
If the Customer Is
\n<\/th>\n 		Then
\n<\/th>\n <\/tr><\/thead>\n
If the Customer Is\n<\/span>Present and <\/strong>is the:
\u2022 Registered owner of record
\n \u2022 Legal owner of record
\n \u2022 Insurance company representative\n<\/td>\n 		Then\n<\/span>Give the printout to the requester.
\n<\/td>\n <\/tr>\n
If the Customer Is\n<\/span>Present and is not <\/strong>the:
\u2022 Registered owner
\n \u2022 Legal owner of record
\n \u2022 Insurance company representative\n<\/td>\n 		Then\n<\/span>\n \u2022 Do not attempt to detain the customer or in any way indicate that something is wrong.
\n \u2022 Verify the requester\u2019s identification.
\n \u2022 Notify the office manager.
\n \u2022 Follow the manager\u2019s instructions.\n<\/td>\n <\/tr>\n
If the Customer Is\n<\/span>\nNot <\/strong>present (mail or bundle item)
\n<\/td>\n 		Then\n<\/span>\n \u2022 Do not process the request.
\n \u2022 Notify your manager.
\n \u2022 Send a photocopy of the information request and printout of the vehicle record to the nearest Investigations office.
\n \u2022 Complete the usual notification process if released by the investigator.\n<\/td>\n <\/tr>\n<\/tbody><\/table>\n<\/figure>\n<\/body>\n\n\n
