The 10-day notice <strong>is not<\/strong> required if:<span style=\"font-family: var(--font-primary); font-size: inherit;\"><\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The property owner and the owner of the vehicle sign a release authorizing removal and waive further interest in the vehicle, or part, <strong>or<\/strong><\/li><li>The vehicle is inoperable due to the absence of motor, transmission, or wheels; is incapable of being towed; is valued at less than $200 and is determined by the local agency to be a public nuisance; and the property owner signs a release authorizing removal and waives interest in the vehicle.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Step 2<br><\/strong>Within five days of removal of an abandoned vehicle, submit a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dmv.ca.gov\/portal\/file\/notice-removal-of-abandoned-vehicle-reg-104\/\" target=\"_blank\">Notice of Removal of Abandoned Vehicle (REG 104)<\/a> to the department.
