Most customers can save a trip to the office and do their DMV business online at <a href=\"\/portal\">dmv.ca.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sacramento\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced that the Oakland Coliseum office at 501 85th Ave. will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department closed the office on April 14 due to vandalism when staff discovered a leaking water pipe in the ceiling that caused flooding and other damage. It was determined that someone had stolen wiring that cut electricity to the HVAC system and light poles in the parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DMV\u2019s top priority is to protect the health and safety of its team members and customers. The department replaced the HVAC system and cleaned the air ducts, replaced other damaged infrastructure, and added additional security measures to deter future vandalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Before Going to a DMV Office \u2014 Try Online First<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most DMV tasks do not require an office visit. The DMV encourages customers to use its&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmv.ca.gov\/portal\/dmv-online\/\">online services<\/a>&nbsp;and other service channels to complete transactions, such as eligible driver\u2019s license and vehicle registration renewals.
