SACRAMENTO – On Your Mark…Get Set…Let’s Go for a Drive or “Vamos a Manejar.” The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is proud to present a new video release in Spanish – “Vamos a Manejar” – an innovative approach to teaching California drivers.

The video is funded in part by a $111,490 grant from the Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It will be distributed to all California public libraries and driving schools that submitted a request for the Spanish video.

“Vamos a Manejar” mirrors the recent English release “Let’s Go for a Drive.” Four segments: “La Licencia de Manejar de California,” “Compartiendo el Camino,” “Reglamento Vial,” and “Las Diez Principales Razones de Reprobar el Examen Práctico de Manejo” provide information regarding the driver license requirements,  the rules of the road, safety information while sharing the road, and the top 10 reasons for failing the driving test. This DVD is an excellent educational resource that will assist both the ‘new’ and ‘veteran’ driver.

The English version of the lesson plan, surveys, and order form are available on our website at The English version of the video will be available on DMV’s Web site in October 2007, and the Spanish version of the video, lesson plan, surveys, and order form will be available in 2008.
