DMV Opens New Field Office In Fairfield

Fairfield – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today dedicated its new Fairfield Office during “Grand Opening” ceremonies at 160 Serrano Drive in Fairfield.

The 10,035 square-foot office is much larger than its 445 Pacific Avenue predecessor, which has been open since 1975. The new office – which opened April 7 to the public – will service 122,651 customers annually with 21 DMV employees.

 “The DMV has the customer and the environment in mind when we construct new DMV facilities,” said DMV Director George Valverde.  “We are pleased to open a larger, more modern facility in the growing City of Fairfield.”

With energy efficiency as a priority, the new office was developed for Fairfield’s climate and lifestyle. The office combines new technologies with proven uses of heating, cooling and natural lighting that lends itself to the new generation of office building in the greater Fairfield region. Located close to Interstate-80, the office offers ease of access and resides near the downtown district.

Today’s event highlights the DMV’s stepped-up effort toward building more energy-efficient field offices with the customer in mind. New offices have previously been opened in West Hollywood (Los Angeles County), Bishop (Inyo County), King City (Kern County), Clovis (Fresno County), San Ysidro (San Diego County), and South Sacramento (Sacramento County).
