DMV Opens New Field Office in El Monte

El Monte –The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today dedicated its new El Monte Office during Grand Opening ceremonies at 4000 Arden Drive in El Monte.

The 10,594 square-foot office, which opened Aug. 1, 2011 to the public – will process more than 126,000 transactions annually and be staffed with 32 employees.

“The DMV has our customers and the environment in mind when we open new facilities,” said DMV Director George Valverde.  “We are pleased to open a new and modern office in the City of El Monte.”

With energy efficiency and customer ease of use as top priorities, DMV will achieve a Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System for meeting the high standards for energy and resource conservation.

The LEED Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. It was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, a 10,000 member non-profit trade organization, which has developed the LEED system to promote a whole-building approach to sustainability.
