Time-Saving Tools to Improve Your DMV Experience!
The DMV recognizes that your time is valuable, and is therefore committed to making your experience with us better than ever. In recent months, the department has launched several new services designed to make your visit with the DMV more seamless than ever.
Never Miss Your Appointment!
Expect a friendly reminder ‘three’ days prior to your scheduled appointment.
Our Telephone Appointment Notification system contacts you to confirm the date, time, location and reason for your appointment. If you miss the call, don’t worry, we will leave you a voice message.
We Will Call You Back!
The DMV’s new Virtual Hold gives you the option of receiving a call back from a customer service agent if your wait on the phone is longer than five minutes. You will simply be asked to leave a number where we can reach you when it is your turn!
Now you can go about your busy day without sitting on hold.
Get your vehicle registration tags and cards into your hands quicker!
Visit a Self Service Terminal (SST) at one of 25 southern California DMV offices and Sacramento’s La Mancha location. It is fast and convenient! Scan your registration renewal notice. Pay with cash, check or credit card. Within minutes, you are finished.
Android & iPhone Applications
From the palm of your hand, “DMV NOW” lets you find local offices with actual wait times, get turn-by-turn directions based on the GPS location, take simple written driving tests, access a large library of driver education videos and receive important DMV Alerts.
Save Time, Go Online for Faster Service!
You can schedule an office visit or a behind-the-wheel driving test online, or calling your local DMV office at 1-800-777-0133.
Appointments for driver license, identification card, and vehicle registration services can be made up 45 days in advance and are based on availability.
DMV offers an array of services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including vehicle registration and driver license renewals, selection of personalized license plates, changes of address, filing a notice of release of liability, and payment of fees via secure debit transactions.
