Study: Highway Maintenance Activities



Repealed Sec. 197, Ch. 193, Stats. 2004. Effective January 1, 2005.
The repealed section read as follows: "The Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Department of California Highway Patrol, shall study the feasibility of performing nonemergency maintenance work activities upon state highways during low-volume traffic hours. The study shall at a minimum consider the following criteria:
(a) Motorist safety.
(b) Worker safety.
(c) Working conditions.
(d) Cost of performing the work.
(e) Cost of delays to the motorists.
Upon completion of the study, the department shall develop a highway lane closure policy and procedure and report its findings and recommendations to the Legislature on or before March 31, 1988."
