Screen sharing lets a DMV representative view and navigate you through your DMV web pages or review your documents to help assist you.
Here are some important things to keep in mind:
- By selecting “Accept” and providing the DMV representative with the four-digit, system-generated passcode, you are consenting to allow the representative to view your screen, or with your added consent, navigate you through your DMV web pages.
- The representative will be able to see DMV web pages that you are looking at, which may include your account and personal information. For more information on DMV’s Privacy Policy https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/privacy-and-security/
- You agree that it is your responsibility, and not DMV’s, to close, minimize, or otherwise obscure any information you do not wish to share with DMV.
- In limited cases and with your added consent, a representative may request to take control to help assist you.
- Protect Yourself from Fraud DMV representatives will never ask you to share your screen unless you initiate the request through DMV’s official website. Always verify that you are on a DMV.ca.gov webpage and that your screen sharing code was generated by the DMV system. If in doubt, end the session immediately and contact DMV directly.
You can disconnect at any time, for any reason.
