Already renewed? You should receive your new DL/ID card in the mail within two to four weeks. If you have not received your DL/ID card after 60 days, check your status online.

Save time – test online!
When applying for or renewing your driver’s license online, you may be prompted to take online learning or testing.
- The online knowledge test (“MVProctor”) is offered in 35 languages and is available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The test needs a webcam and cannot be done on a smartphone or tablet. You will verify your identity before starting and will be monitored during the test.
- The interactive eLearning course has seven parts with quizzes after each section. eLearning can be done on a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone and is available at any time. This is only available in English and takes about 45 minutes.

Updating your information before you renew:
I need to change my address
An address should be updated at least five days prior to renewing your DL/ID.
If you already submitted a change of address request, you can check your status online.
I need to change my name or gender identity
If you are not the person named on the renewal notice, you will not be eligible to renew.
If you would like to change your name or gender identity, you need to do so before renewing online. Name or gender identity changes must be processed at your local DMV office.
Other changes to your driver’s license information, such as height and weight, require a new application.
I need a reduced, no-fee, or senior ID card
If you want to change from a standard ID to a reduced, no-fee, or senior ID, you will not be eligible to renew online.
If you want to upgrade to a REAL ID, please apply for one online in lieu of your renewal application.
