Start Virtual Test Center

Before you begin:

  1. Have a photo identification available.
Note Full name and photo must be visible on the front of the photo identification being used.

  2. You must have started an application and have a photo and fingerprint taken at a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office prior to accessing the Virtual Test Center.

  3. MVProctor is an automated remote proctoring solution for online testing. You will be required to submit a facial recognition scan, and an approved identification (ID) scan in order to take your test(s). Once the scans have been approved, you will be directed to download the MVProctor browser extension to a computer that will administer the test, which is recorded. The test will be proctored using webcam video, computer sound, and keyboard tracking technologies.
Note This feature is not set up for mobile devices at this time.

  4. The PC being used for testing must have the following:

    • Operating System: Windows 7, 8 or higher or MAC OSX High Sierra 10.13 or higher. A traditional desktop computer mouse or built-in laptop touchpad mouse may be used.
    • Processor/RAM: PC: Dual-core 2.4 Ghz CPU, 2 GB RAM or better MAC: Intel/AMD Processor, 2 GB RAM
    • Web Browser: Chrome v25.0 or higher
      • Javascript Enabled & Third Party Cookies Enabled
    • Webcam Resolution: 800 x 600 or better
      • Network: An internet connection is required. We strongly recommend a wired internet connection instead of wireless for desktop or laptop computers (300 KBPS download/250 KBPS upload) along with a keyboard and mouse.
    • Language Support: Instructions are in English, the test(s) are available in multiple languages.

Important For test security purposes, upon completion of your test the MVProctor browser extension will delete your browsing history within the preceding hour.
