Electronic Driver License and Identification Card (ID) Application

Note: In order to complete the electronic application, you must use the latest version of DMV’s recommended web browsers: Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, or Safari.

To save time, DMV customers can fill out the online Electronic Driver License and ID Card application before visiting a DMV field office. If you plan to apply for a driver license or ID card during your visit, you should complete this electronic application before you arrive.

The simple electronic application will guide you through filling out the required information. When you arrive at a DMV office, DMV employees can quickly access your completed form and begin to process it.

In order to begin the application process, you must create a secure account with our partner (ID.me) and complete a two-factor authentication to prove your digital identity.  You will need an email address you have access to and an active phone number (either cell phone or landline) to confirm your digital identity.

After completing the application, you will receive confirmation number to bring with you to your DMV visit. Your application will be saved for 12 months after the last modification.

More information on the Electronic Application:

  • You are able to begin the process to become an organ and tissue donor and/or register to vote. The organ and tissue donor and voter registration process will not be complete until you complete your transaction at a DMV office and that transaction is processed by the department.
  • All DMV field offices are equipped to assist customers with disabilities to complete the electronic application. Each office has equipment and software including a virtual keyboard, Job Access With Speech (JAWS), zoom capabilities, and a large roller-track ball mouse.
