Colusa DMV Office to Close Temporarily

What you need to know: The Colusa Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office will close temporarily for renovations on August 20 at 5 p.m. However, most customers do not have to visit an office and can do their DMV business online at dmv.ca.gov.

Sacramento — The California DMV today announced that the Colusa office at 1025 Bridge St., Suite B, will close temporarily for flooring repairs beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 20. The office is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, and is open to the public only on Tuesday and Thursday.

The office will serve customers with driving test appointments on August 21 and 31 but will not be open to the public again until September 1.

Until the renovations are complete, customers can visit the following area offices:

  • Yuba City: 1570 Poole Blvd. (23 miles from the Colusa office)
  • Willows: 815 N. Humboldt Ave. (35 miles from the Colusa office). This office is only open on Tuesday and Thursday
  • Oroville: 775 Mitchell Ave. (46 miles from the Colusa office)
  • Chico: 107 Parmac Road, Suite 1 (49 miles from the Colusa office)

Before Going to a DMV Office — Try Online First

Most DMV tasks do not require an office visit. The DMV encourages customers to use its online services and other service channels to complete transactions, such as eligible driver’s license and vehicle registration renewals. Customers can also use the Service Advisor on the DMV website to learn about options to complete DMV tasks.

Go Paperless — To sign up for paperless vehicle registration and driver’s license renewal notices, sign in or create a secure online account at dmv.ca.gov to opt in.
