DMV’s Watsonville Office Temporarily Closing for Renovations

Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles is alerting customers that the Watsonville office at 90 Alta Vista Ave. will be temporarily closing to replace the flooring and furniture beginning 5 p.m. Friday, April 5. The office is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, May 20.

Until the renovation is complete, customers can visit the following area offices:

  • Capitola: 4200 Capitola Road (13 miles)
  • Gilroy: 6984 Automall Parkway, Suite A (19 miles)
  • Salinas: 260 E Laurel Drive (20 miles)
  • Seaside: 1180 Canyon Del Rey Blvd. (26 miles)

Before Going to an Office – Try Online First!

The DMV has taken many steps to offer more digital services. Most DMV tasks do not require an office visit. The DMV encourages customers to use its online services and other service channels to complete transactions, including eligible driver’s license and vehicle registration renewals. Customers can also use the Service Advisor on the DMV website to learn their options to complete DMV tasks.

To sign up for paperless vehicle registration and driver’s license renewal notices, customers must sign in or create a secure online account at dmv.ca.gov and then opt in.
