DMV Now Self Service Terminal Available on UC Irvine Campus
Popular Kiosk offers Convenient Vehicle Renewal Option
Sacramento – Faculty, students and the public can now instantly renew their vehicle registration on the University of California, Irvine’s campus by visiting a DMV Now Self-Service Terminal (SST). It is located in the Transportation and Distribution Services Offices at 200 Public Services Building (second floor) from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. 20-minute visitor parking is available in adjacent Parking Lot 1C.
This is the first external location where the easy-to-use blue and yellow kiosks will be placed. The department is adding them to nine other southern California retail locations this month.
“We understand our customers are busy and may not be able to visit a field office,” said DMV Director Jean Shiomoto. “We hope by placing a DMV Now Self-Service Terminal on this college campus, it will provide our customers with another time-saving option.”
The popular self-service terminal is designed for customers who need their vehicle registration card and license plate tag immediately. To conduct a transaction, customers will need their vehicle registration renewal notice or their most recent vehicle registration card. The touch screen machine offers instructions in English and Spanish and accepts credit cards and checks.
It can also be used by customers who have decided to park their vehicle and want to file for planned non-operation status.
DMV Now Self-Service Terminals are also available during regular business hours at 60 DMV field office locations. The nearest DMV field offices to campus that offer an SST are located in Costa Mesa, Santa Ana, and Westminster.
