Fresno – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is teaming up with KSEE24/CBS47 to inform California residents about the REAL ID driver license and identification card program. DMV representatives will be discussing the REAL ID program during newscasts on both television stations from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on September 25.
The DMV and KSEE24/CBS47 want residents to be prepared for upcoming changes to federal identification requirements to board flights within the United States, and access secure federal facilities and military bases that begin October 1, 2020. When the enforcement date takes effect, Californians will be required to show one of the following documents at airport security checkpoints and federal screening locations:

- Other federally approved documents
For Californians who want to continue to use their driver license or identification card to fly within the United States or visit secure federal facilities, the DMV offers residents a federal compliant REAL ID driver license and identification card, which is identified with a bear and star.
