Driver License / Identification Card Renewal
Welcome to the DMV Driver License / Identification Card Renewal System.
In order to process your renewal, you must:
- Use DMV’s recommended web browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or Safari. Internet Explorer is currently not compatible with this online service.
- Be a Certified User.
- Be the person named on the renewal notice.
- Not have a change of address.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT renew your DL/ID online if you have recently submitted or intend to submit an online change of address within the next 10 days. We recommend that you instead, mail your renewal notice to DMV and be sure to change your address on the back of the form. This will help ensure your DL/ID card reflects your current address.
Please Note: If you want to apply for a different type of DL/ID card, such as a Reduced Fee/No Fee ID, Senior ID, or Commercial DL, than the type you currently have, you must visit a DMV field office.
For more information, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions.
Important: If you renew your driver license or ID card online, you will receive a Federal Non-Compliant card, which has the marking “Federal Limits Apply.”
By selecting the “Driver License Renewal” or the “Identification Card Renewal” button above, you will be directed to a REAL ID Information page. To learn more about how your information is shared as well as the laws that protect the release of your information visit How Your Information is Shared.
