DMV Consolidating Lompoc Services to Larger Field Office

New Field Office Location Available September 19

Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is improving the way it offers services to the residents of Lompoc and surrounding communities by consolidating services at one location. The DMV is transforming its Driver License Processing Center (DLPC) at 1601 North H Street into a full service field office, beginning September 19, 2016.

This move will result in the closure of the field office located at 209 West Pine Avenue, just one mile away. When its doors shut on September 16, staff will be transferred to the new, more spacious facility that has been in operation as a DLPC since 2014.

Beginning September 19, first-time driver license applicants will need to schedule an appointment prior to visiting the 1601 H Street office. To schedule an appointment, click here or call 1-800-777-0133. This location will not provide motorcycle skills testing because of the site limitations; those customers will be directed to the Santa Maria field office, located at 523 S. McClelland Street, 25 miles away.

The DMV reminds customers that it offers many online services at www.dmv.ca.gov, which will save them a trip to a DMV field office. A few of the convenient options include renewing a vehicle registration and driver license, completing a change of address, requesting a driver record, and making an appointment.

Current Lompoc Field Office at 209 West Pine Avenue closes September 16, 2016.

Lompoc DLPC at 1601 North H Street opens as full service Field Office on September 19, 2016.
